There is a guy on ebay that sells a rebuild kit. This is a common issue.

i already ordered the metal gear so if it goes again ill just replace it..pretty easy fix really...except when i had one headlight opening and the other one closing (put the arm on facing the wrong way, no harm no foul :o )
heres a quick how to since i cant find the darn thread again......
1. with headlights closed remove the rubber cap off the motor and manually open the bad headlight
2.remove the 3 screws that hold the plastic side cover on..
3. remove the 4 torx bolts holing the headlight body piece on (not sure if this has to be removed but it did help to see whats going on in there)
4. remove the 10mm nut holding the arm onto the motor shaft..
the motor shaft is like a windshield wiper motor shaft that has 2 flat sides on it so it can go on one way or 180 degrees the other way (hope that makes sense)
5. carefully pull the arm off the shaft and rotate the motor shaft with the manual open/close **** exactly 180 degrees from where it is....then reinstall the arm onto the shaft and retighten the nut.....
6 put it all together and it should work, since now its using the good unused side of the gear...if not you havnt lost anything imo.......
Woot...this is my very first HOW TO on this forum or for that fact on any car...(remember im a bike dude) so dont shoot me or come crying if you break something
, also if you have very big hands this may not work for you, or will at least be a bigger pain in the butt.....
