When you start the car up first thing in the AM when its cold what RPM level does the engine rev to before settling down at its normal idle? My car is revving up to 2500 RPM for a few seconds when cold, before settling in at 800 RPM. I have the car at the Vette Docs now trying to get it right. This happened right after installing the NW 90mm TB & 90mm FAST LSX intake. Can this be adjusted through tuning or is there supposed to be a spike in revs before settling in? Once warm the engine revs to only about 1000 RPM when started, give or take a little, before dropping down to 800. I hope that this is not a continual problem with this particular TB. Anyone?
My car rev's to about 2000 rpm when it fires up. I'm going to ask my tuner to lower it down a little since I have a high lift cam. 1500 or so is what I'm shooting for.
Mine jumps to 1400 and immediatly settles to where idle is set at the current temp. This happens to most with the cooler morning temps. They need to lower the RAFs at cold temps. Also, RAFs take over as you start to move. Suggest you select Centigrade on the DIC and let the car coast. Track the temps as the car warms up and starts to slow down. The tuner should lower RAFs at each temp to reduce speeds, if you're getting too much cruise.
