Default Motor started clacking,galled all my pushrods.

Well, I swapped in some 50W to help my pressure problem and I had 25 at idle, 32 at cruise, 42 WOT. I figured that would get me through the day but buzzing at 4500-6500 all day took its toll. The lifter side is fine, the rocker side is all beat up. Didn't bend any, just galled the end. I am pretty sure the weak pressure is the culprit. I hate learning things the hard way. On the plus side, the car hauled *** and I got signed off to solo. The bad news is I have no car to run tomorrow for time trials.

How are the rockers? That 50w probably couldn't get up the rod.
Are you running in Mass? If so it's supposed to rain... I know that doesn't make you feel any better.

I planned on time trials tomorrow, ran there all day today and the car was fine. I mean I ran in 3rd and 4th buzzing the thing at sick RPM's with no issues. Putting along the MA Pike on the way home it starts making all sorts of noises. I'm just going to take the whole damn thing apart again and check the pump. My guess is the Rollmaster/SLP shims pushed the pump out to the point where the 0-ring sits cockeyed and I didn't notice it.
Must have been some bad vibe at the track today. Saw four cars get smashed and one totalled in a rollover.

The rockers look fine, which I have seen before. I had a Ford motor do the same thing. Basically, it grinds the ball end into a point and the pushrod in effect becomes shorter, allowing for a lot of clearace and clacking.

Yup, COMSCC,I have a silver C5. I was there today with a couple of my friends, red 91 C4, 01 silver Z06, a black 96 Maxima and a green 94 C4. I'm not going to bother going back just to watch, I'll probably just work on the car.

If I had pushrods, I may have actually considered it but I got home at 7:30 and didn't have time to go buy a new set.
Its just odd that it waited until I was almost home to make noise. Oh well, its the end of the season anyway, just would have liked to run the car hard today. Usually, I can come out of the turns WOT with the TC on. With the H/C it was activating TC and actually slowing me down.
