Had a 880cca (I think) Red top in my Z28 for 4 years and sold the car with it in it. 0 problems, even after sitting for weeks.

I had the same problem with my Red. Once it got fully dead, it was never the same. I took it back to where I got it from, since it has a 36 month warranty. I now have a brand new Red on the C5.

Why is everyone having a problem with red tops? The yellow is just a deeper cycle, from what I understand.

2 red tops in service. One drives daily, one sits a lot, no trouble with either.

I've got the 34/78 Red Top and have had it since June. The car sits a lot and the Auto Zone 84 month battery that was in would be dead after a week. Not a problem with the the Optima.

Go w/ the 34/78. It has more CCA's than does the other model.
