I noticed my oil pressure guage was pegged at 80 psi today and when I checked the DIC readout it read 129. Any ideas what would cause such a high reading? Could a dirty oil filter cause this?
100 to 1 it is your oil pressure sensor. if you are machanically inclined in any way you won't have a problem changing it. check it the C5 tech tips section there is a post with the part needed and the "how to do it" description.
It is a common problem with the C5.
Good luck.

Mine went bad the exact same way. Quick way to tell if it's the sensor is to turn key on but DO NOT start the engine. Gauges will "come up". If you get a pressure reading when the engine is OFF, then it's the sensor.
