Default shifting problems

Won't shift at full throttle, 80% throttle car shifts perfect, the dealer is having a hard time figuring out what the problem might be. I thought maybe somebody out there might have had this problem. They've checked the tranny & torque converter, put in new solenoids (4), a new valve body and a new computer.
I'm at a loss about what to do or try next...any ideas?

Thats a tough one. If I were in the technicians shoes I would probably try upgrading both the ECM and TCM software (for these GM car's it's probably just the PCM) firstly, if there is no result there I would try replacing the PCM. (on the volvo's I work on all too often the computers fry) If that doesn't work then Comes replacing the trans. With these computer controlled transmissions you kind of have to rule out all electronic control (like line pressure and shift solenoids like you have) before replacing the trans. of course. And sadly, that'll be the hard thing to get them to do.... Good luck with it!

Thanks for the response, they have already checked and replaced the computers. The computers are running the newest GM software. GM is saying that the motor is not operating at 100% capacity and they think the motor is to blame. Although many test have been done on the motor such as compression, decarbonization. The motor seems to be fine, the dealer has gone the through the transmission thoroughly and say it's not the tranmission.

Well they'd better decide something is broken shouldn't they! I don't see how they can check the band clutches in the transmission without taking the thing apart (which I'm sure they havent). As for the motor, it is possible for the motor to hang up the shifting process if it isn't running properly. For example it's classic to see a Mass Airflow Sensor that's reading improperly to cause a no top end power condition (or worse). If I suspect a volvo to have a bad MAF, in some cases I find an onramp, floor the car and it usually sticks at 5000 rpm ish and almost nil for acceleration (right about 60 mph).

Make sure they say to you next time you talk to them "oh yeah, we checked all the sensors, including the MAF ...."

Good luck man.

Talked to the dealer still no idea whats wrong with the car, myself I think the motor is running perfect. The dealer is saying if the motor is not operating at 100% the transmission knows. They think the motor is operating at about 90%, but no way to tell. Just curious if you know anything about shift kits? It seems that it had one and was removed to put in the new valve body. Are there any external components that might be hidden somewhere causing the confusion?
