Erratic Fuel Guage
The 97 Vette that I'm planning on purchasing just encountered a problem with the fuel guage. It is basically jumping around between empty and full. The current owner has it in the shop now having it looked at. The Chevy mechanic told the owner that they'll drop the tank and see if there is a problem in that area.
I've heard that this gremlin is somewhat of a common problem that develops. Can anyone tell me what the problem is exactly so she can relay the info to the service dept?
I suspect she also has the noisy fuel pump problem. I've heard of under the table type warranties from the manufacturers (not advertised) that take care of some problems developed and are common in certain cars after the original warranty expires. Has anyone had any luck with getting GM to pay for any of this after warranty expiration?
Thanks for your help,
Craig
