Being a newbee to the c5 I'm doing the learning curve thing. Anyway I would like to raise my vette just a little. I cant even get a floor jack under it for service. I've been doing searches but can't find any pics of the bolts used to raise or lower the car. Also what is stock height. From the frame behind the front wheel to the ground its a little less then 5" to the ground. Also which way so you turn the bolts to raise and is it done with the wheels off the ground or with a load resting on them. Anything else you can think of that would be of help is welcomed. Thanks for any feedback.
Maybe I'm missing something, but if I understand this correctly you have to take the whole front suspension apart to raise the height with the adjustable nut.
From where you measured it should be about 4.5". If the only problem with height is the jack, how about a racing jack. Low profile. First thing I bought for my Vette, so far only thing! Well worth the money!
NIce jack, That would fit under the rear cross member but can you get under the front cross member. I'm lucky in that I have a harbor freight here where I live. Thanks for the feedback.

my car is lowered as far as possible with the stock bolts and i also cut off the rubber bushings
the jack will fit under the rear, but to get the front in the air i have to start by lifting at the lift point behind the front tire and then moving under the front. does anyone know if this somehow damages the car?--it kind of tweaks the chassis
Thats how I have to jack mine and why I want to know if that racing jack will fit under the front.
no, that is what i'm saying, i have the racing jack and even though the saddle is low enough to get under the front leaf spring, you cant get the rest of the jack past the air diffuser.
its been a while since ive had mine up, but i think what i do is drive the front up on rhino ramps (i really can use them on my lowered car) and then jack up the back. but i cant remember when im on the ramps if i can still get the jack under the back when the car is at the new angle?
all i remember is while it sounds easy, by the time i have gotten my car up on stands, im so worn out and pissed off, its best to take a break and then go back and work on the car.
someday, im gonna spend some green and get a lift. but how do i justify 4 grand or so for a lift when i cant come up with the money for a TT? oh well, brick by brick.
$8 fix, go to your lumber yard and buy a 2"x!0"x8' and then cut it in half. Now lay them in front of your tires and drive up on them. Jack goes in no problem. Been doing that for 20+ years on various sports cars.
I got ya now, I'm going to have to get those rino ramps the ones I have now ,no way. Maybe I'll try to build some kind of preramps. I've also thought of getting a lift last year I looked into the kwiklift that you drive onto and lift it from the rear with a floor jack ,about a grand. Do a google search its pretty neat. Thanks again for the info.
