Default Vette Doctors: A4 Kooks & Intake

Picked up my 98 A4 tonight from The Vette Doctors. Carmen and the gang added a set of Kooks 1 3/4 inch headers, X pipe, high flow cats and an LS6 intake manifold. Top notch service as usual

Started at 289 rwhp and ended with 328 rwhp. Similar increases in torque. I'll be adding heads and cam over the winter....Carmen even tried to fix a really irritating grinding noise, but ran out of time. Tried everything including replacing a control arm. Did not charge me for the labor. When in for the H/C they will find it I'm sure and please Carmen, bill me for your time

All I can say is my runflats are useless. How in the world do all you nuts out there drive with 500+ rwhp? When in doubt, see the Doctors...

Nice gains! Good luck with that traction, I guess there are worse problems!

I was out in Long Islong on Thursday and decided to stop into their shop to talk about my car. I talked with Carmen for about an 1/2 hour. He stopped what he was doing to shoot the **** with me. I told him what I wanted to do, and he never pushed me into doing more than planned. He gave me options for future mods. He answered all of my questions. The shop was clean with several beautiful vettes in the lot ranging from C3,4,5's.

I knew I was at the right place when I saw the "home made" burn out pit in the street in front of the shop, and a ZO6 with slicks on it in the lot.

Thanks again Carmen

Also ask Carmen about the headers. He told me that he is installing only the 1 7/8" Kooks since he finds that they make a significant amount of power when compared with the 1 3/4" ones. I'm curious as to why he installed the 1 3/4" Kooks on your car. Let us know.

Congrats on the increase in HP!! Did you bring the headers to The Vette Drs. or did they supply them? Carmen had mentioned to me that he is installing Kooks 1 7/8" headers for all of his customers since he found them to make more power than the 1 3/4" regardless of whether the car is stock or modified. Keep us posted.

Vette Drs. supplied them. They are 1 3/4" as the h/c are stock. Would gain more later, but could have lost some now. I am not going all out, so it does not really matter. H/C over the winter. Cannot wait. If I get close to 400 rwhp I'd be really happy.
