Default Take 2 !!Car STILL Backfires, Not Fixed, though it was.

Here is my original post

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/showthread.php?t=957019

Found a plug wire damaged and you could see white where the insulation was exposed. Got a spare stock plug wire from a speed shop and put it on and started it up, no more backfiring or popping, let it run for 60 seconds and I though all was Fine.

Then I got my new MSD Wires today and installed them, they are tough to get on on some of the plugs. Started it up and then started backfiring and popping again. I though maybe I didn't tighten one enough because they are hard to get leverage on a few to push them on the plug.

Ok so then I said I will go back to what I had before. So I put the stock plug wires on again to see if that woudl fix it, Now this time it still backfired and poped just as before

Then put on the MSD's again for the 2nd time and made sure they were all connected right and did the same thing,,,,,rough idel and popping and backfiring.

Man, now I am not sure what it is?????????????????

How could replacing the stock plug the 1st time make it run perfectly for 60-90 seconds and now all is bad again??

Someone said it might be a Brokken Spring? I took off the valve covers and didn't see a broken spring, but sometimes they are hard to see.

Any Ideas????????????????????

I am going to get it towed to the shop soon so they can figure it out if I can't fix it.

this could be a silly question but you've got some fresh plugs in there right? Secondly, I've seen some people have trouble with the coils. (forgive me if coils came up already in that last thread - im too lazy to read)
