From: Alhambra Calismognazifornia, in the country everyone comes just to complain but won't go back home!
i've since spoken to Jeff, who just referred me to Scott at SW regarding my problems. I told Scott, who oversees production of these at SW, of all my issues. He was very surprised and said he's never heard of any such problems. We talked it over for a couple days while I attempted a couple different things. Finally, I did something I should've done from the beginning, I pulled out the other assembly and started comparing them. It was instantly obvious that the one I had been working with initially was screwed up. The biggest problem being that the bottom of the bucket was completely warped. I called Scott back and told him about it and we decided to return the one assembly to him. He said he'd put it on his assembly jig and check it all out. He said worst case, he had spare parts in stock and he'd build/rebuild an assembly for me. I also sent back the covers and asked them to send me some undrilled, unscribed, and, of course, unscratched replacements. We'll see how this all turns out....regardless of the "anomally" warped bucket I received, I'm still FAR from impressed with the quality/design of these lights for the price.
The trouble with this kind of crap is that one set may be marginally okay and the next pure crappola. There is no excuse for this. If they were cheap one might be more tolerant of such "work." At the price of any of the nonpops, I'd expect to just "bolt 'em in."
Heck, if I wanted to build my own, I'd do so, not spend my time trying to fix someone elses screw up.
From: One thing is for sure this kind of discourse and BS would not be tolerated on the NCRS forum. Ohio
I got mine for $225 from a guy who gave up on them. If I paid a grand I'd be pissed. This is the worst fitting part I have ever purchased. Mine will not fit in the front any way any how without major mods so I just got them close. I do however get tons of compliments. The 4 foot rule is very much in effect here.
I've never had a hard time getting in touch with them. Everytime I've called them I've got through and I've called them probley about 10 times.
That's true, you can always reach them right up until you have a problem, then they disappear off the face of the earth. Been down that road before with them. Can't and won't get into it!
Good Luck.

I fully agree with this. I purchased the HID setup, which they no longer sell. When it came time to replace a bulb, SW was of no help at all. Scott could not tell me where to get a replacement or even what part I should look for, as there are no markings or numbers on the bulbs. They are over priced and over rated and they are, as a matter of fact, not the same part that the actual C5R's use. I like the styling, but knowing what I know now, would not spend the big bucks for them.

Hey, Thanks for the headsup! I'll compare mine as soon as they arrive.
