I vote for driving once a month at least if possible, this is what I do. Un hook the battery tender and go for a cruise to make sure the oil and coolent temps get to normal.
My '98 sits in my garage for 4 to 4 1/2 every winter w/ the battery disconnected and the "Battery Tender" trickle charging the battery. I don't start it or drive it whatsoever. There are absolutely NO issues w/ the car when I fire it up in April. Good luck.
I put clean oil in it, top off the gas tank, remove the battery, and leave it in the garage parked on carpet and set the thermometer at 45 to keep the moisture out of the garage.
If I were to just stow it for the 4-5 months, how to you guys feel about that "remove the plugs and put an ounce of oil in each cylinder" trick? To me theoretically it seems ok but I'm not sure.....
Ok well I guess I've made my decision. I couldn't resist, I took my car out today and put about 70 miles on it driving around town and highway...... Boy did that feel good. In addition there were no new problems or noises and it performed perfectly. God I love this car.
