Default LGM Header Install

First and foremost I have to say that these headers are beautifully constructed..

I have a few questions.

It is common not to be able to line up the bolts that go the bottom of the bell housing. The drivers side one lined up. the passenger side one there is no way. I have tried it with it loose, with it tight, pulling it with a strap into position, nothing. Once I have installed the X pipe, I tried again.. even worse.. it is off about a half a hole. Just wondering if this is common.

The whole system is solid enough that I am not worried about it hanging there.. just the installation does not look complete.

Does anyone know what that fitting on the passenger side is for? It does not go through, but just curious.

I am really excited to see if I can break 600 RWHP with these installed.

Mine lines up just like yours on the bell houseing. I got the bolt on the driver side but not the passenger. 4K miles like that and no problems.

Fitting I believe is to hook up a scan tool for a/f

Both sides lined up for me with a little force with the header/head bolts loose and after I loosened the the bolts at the top of the bracket under the bellhousing.

You are right in them being solid enough, you shouldn't have any problem with ut the bolt installed.

Enjoy the new sound!

I don't know what it is with the Bell housing support, but when I installed Random Tech Hi-flows and X-pipe to the stock manifolds, the Passenger side was a real B**ch. Finally got it in but had to loosen EVERYTHING to the back of the car. This winter, planning on a header install...this issue is giving me cause to worry.

i have both sides bolted down at the bellhousing.i bolted mine down to the head first[never pull the header down to the head!],loosened the bellhousing bracket, put the left header bolt in finger tight, and used a 2 by 4 at the right side collector move the header over a little to install the right side header to bracket bolt finger tight, installed the x pipe, and bolted everything up evenly.left side went in through the bottom, right side from top.after a couple of heat cycles the right side will take a set.the bolt flange on the right side is for the oil dipstick on older cars.

I removed the bracket from the bellhousing and left it off.

There is more than enough support, and they were never going to line up w/o serious use of force and I didn't feel like putting the pressure on the heads...

With the bracket removed the tabs on the headers are nowhere near anything, I figured that if I left the bracket on and the header tabs hit the bracket under accelleration I could/would get false knock (been there and done that on my old Camaro with the Grotyohann headers... )

I believe you have to loosen the support at the bellhousing, start both header support bolts, then tighten everything up. The fitting on the pass side header is for manifold temp sensor.
