Default Mod expertice needed..

I just purchased an 01 ZO6 and am looking to do a few minor bolt ons..
I do not have emissions testing,so I was thinking of replacing the cats with ??..Also I am going to order the cags delete and a short shifter..

Which bolt ons and in what order make the most hp difference on the Z's??

Intake? Pulleys? computer reprogram? Headers?

Any advise is appreciated

Taking the cats off is a waste and it smells like ****. Do an intake like VARARAM, great H.P. increase. Do some LT headers and a dyno tune. You will love it!!

Default long tubes

I have some brand new long tubes for sale that will fit your Z. Well anyway for HP I would go with a vararam, long tubes with the hpipe to replace your precats, leave your cats on in my opinion or replace them with high flow cats and get a good high flow catback.

Bet you could get ~35hp out of a moderate cam.

While you are tuning it, have them bypass the cags via the PCM. Eventually your plug in bypass will crap out on you and you will throw codes. Do it right the first time, especially if you are going to be in there anyway.

quick and RELATIVELY easy performance mods, youre right on the money...LG longtubes (let them LS1edit for you), vararam, borla stingers...you gotta LOVE that sound....

during the LS1edit, like pinot said, let them bypass the CAGs, you also might want to consider a lower temp thermostat, and change the fan turn-on temps during the edit also (to match the new thermostat), and also edit out the o2 codes that you will surely be throwing...if you dont get the LS1edit, you will have to buy some o2 sims for the rear o2 plugs

creature comfort mods, short shifter, partition to cut back on the interior noise, shift ****, radar detector, window tint....

and dont forget the zaino, so the hunny's will come talk to you when youre workin on your baybee!!!

Except for the cat part I do it just for the sound. Than again my neighbors don't really like me.

Go with a mild cam, either LG's or Dynatech exhaust systems and a good LS1edit tune. It would be a good idea to get a lower degree thermostat and have that dialed in when you get the tune. Like already suggested just have your cags delete done using LS1edit. Going that route you can easily have 400-420rwhp. Kaley
