X pipe require welding?

Jacking the car up so that if you set tires back down on blocks they are about 20" off the ground, a tubing cutter is nice but you can use a sawsall, new gaskets from GM (they are better than the ones that come with the x-pipe), a torque wrench to really get it right, and good measuring tape. The x-pipe doesn't get welded unless you want it to be. I didn't. Look for x-pipe threads in search, if I remember right somebody had a how to with pictures. Good Luck.

I think I paid 20.00 for a pipe cutter at Advance auto. It's worth the money to get a nice, clean cut . I bought the Corsa x-pipe and it was a easy install with good instructions. Most manufacturers download install instructions from their website. Didn't weld mine either ...kit comes with wide torco clamps which you torque to 40 or so ft lbs.
