Default SS Brake Line question

Just got a set of Goodridge Stainless Steel Braided Brake Lines, but they didn't come with any install instructions or nomenclature. After a lot of thread searches and such, I see terms like "AN connection" and "Banjoe Bolts". To be honset, I'm not sure I got these or anything like them in the kit (from LAPD). Did get copper washers and 4 box lug looking brass pieces with a threaded nipple and a hole through the box center.

Anyone help on the descriptions and/or know of any install instruction available?

Appreciate the help,
LV

I don't think I have ever seen any real useful instructions for this install. It is very straightforward. You can see where everything goes just by looking at the existing rubber brake lines. Just make sure you use all new copper washers at the sealing points.

And the longer lines are for the rear brakes. Install the rear first so there's less to fix if you screw up.

Be sure to keep lots of brake fluid in the plastic holding tank... otherwise you will be in for a very hard time when bleeding the brakes.

Thanks for the quick replies.

Any thoughts on the AN connections or Banjoes?

If the brake lines have a round hole at one end with a bolt that fits through it, they're the banjo bolt type.

Word of advice - get some shrink tube and put it on the brake lines to insure you won't get any codes. Only downside is that they won't look shiny and "bling".

Not sure I understand the reason for codes being set. I know the lines are abrasive but how will covering them stop codes from being sent?

Use the Torque settings on the box, I believe it is 25 ft lbs, If you go by the Corvette Manuals you will break the banjo bolts.

A TSB came out saying GM thought static could cause codes. Wrapping it seems to help. I'm sure different climates affects the occurance of codes. I get shocked by everything here in Albuquerque, NM, so it'd probably affect me if I didn't wrap.
