Pretty straightfoward. I think it took me ~30 minutes last time and most of that was draining the coolant. You still lose a bit of coolant when you pull the pump so have a pan and rags below. I'll list the steps without the pics from the manual below.
1) Remove the air cleaner intake duct.
2) Remove the accessory drive belt.
3) Drain the cooling system.
4) Reposition the inlet and outlet hose clamps at the water pump.
5) Remove the inlet and outlet hoses from the water pump.
6) Reposition the heater inlet and surge tank outlet hose clamps at the water pump.
7) Remove the heater inlet and surge tank outlet hoses from the water pump.
it's a 30 to 45 minute job.... about as difficult as replacing a set of brakes.... just a few heads up...
use anti sieze thread compound and
use a torque wrench..(first pass 15 N-m/ 11 ft. lbs ) (final pass 30 N-m/ 22 ft. lbs.)
replace the dexcool, do not reuse it...

Arrrgh!!! It's my car and I was hoping I could save that stuff, considering it's only been in the car about a year and a half! NTM, I paid a premium for it, cause it was part of the "fluid replacement" the dealer did last year. Don't ask. It was around 60k and all of the stuff needed to be done, along with the first CL fix.

Replacing it is not written in stone.. it was just a suggestion because most people do not change fluids, and this would be an ideal time to do so.. feel better ??
