Those 3 different sites reminded me of what I went through after changing my brakes and rotors...talking to 10 different "experts" gives you 10 different procedures for bedding brakes.
The main theme seems to be, get the brakes and rotors up to temp, apply brakes aggressively several times, and do not come to a full stop so that brake material might be left on the rotor.
i switched to ceramic pads when i put on new rotors (baer eradispeed)...followed the bedding instructions to the letter...been on my daily driver since august '02...completely satified...the minimal amount of light gray dust keeps the wheels looking good longer, too....
I bedded mine when they were new with new rotors. They sucked for a while. I didn't think they stopped as well. And the brake dust was not any better at first. Now I'm used to them, they stop fine, and the dust is minimal. I won't spend the cash for ceramics next time. Stock pads work better IMO.
