While the lock is working, install the clb. Mine had been driven 25,000 miles with no problem, and when I least expected it, you can guess what happened! I installed the clb, after I wrestled the lock open, and have had 0 problems, including 0 messages, for over eight thousand miles. It's easy to install, and knowing now what a pain it is to have it lock, I would have done it sooner. Like, as soon as I heard about it on this forum!

As I stated before I won't install an aftermarket bypass. At this point though I see no need to install even the Harness K, until I experience problems first. The car is not my daily driver so any problems (if any), would most likely happen close to home.

You can lead a horse to water, but you cant make him drink...

You say you have no need to install the CLB or the Harness K until you have problems...you already had a problem. It may have resolved itself temporarily but I can assure you it will return. I am from the school of preventive maintenance rather then wait until I am stranded in the middle of the night then try and repair it. Good luck!

Well since my car experienced a low battery condition once, I am more inclined to believe that was the cause and not that the column had an actual problem. I've read many times on the forums about false error messages due to this. So unless it actually causes my column to lock there is no need to fix a problem that isn't actually showing itself. If it does show up then I will install the Harness K. I may purchase it now for just in case.
