hey guys,
not much of a ls1 type guy but have built many bbc's. I have been talked into using this ls1 in my new ride, a d&d grand sport My problem is that the 63 vette radiator goes all the way to the hood and i have no room for my air intake. I understand that taking air from behind the radiator will cost me dearly in air inlet temp. I saw another ls1 in a c-3 that looked like it had no maf. is this something that can be done away with and what are the pros and cons of that. what does anyone say about air inlet temps
Are you using the factory engine control unit? If you're not, then you can just go with a speed/density setup which just uses a MAP sensor and RPM (instead of the MAF) for fuel metering.
