ABS & TCS LIGHTS ON
10 PCM 1571 asr desired torque
38 RTD c1780 loss of steering position signal
where do I find a wiring connector diagram to list all the connections to check...anyone else have this problem and a solution.
I disconnect the battery and all is fine for about a week...also it has now turned cold and I am thinking of a bad connection due to the cold weather...where are all the connections located under the car for these two items.
any procedures to check this out I searched Tech docs but to no avail. Thanks in Advance...its a DD so need to correct it soon.

38 RTD c1780 loss of steering position signal
C1780 is set when the Electronic Suspsension Control (ESC) Module does not receive a steering postion signal from the Electronic Brake and Traction Control Module (EBTCM) for 5 seconds. This should set a Service Ride Control message. The conditions that set this code are an intermittent open or short on the steering position sensor circuit (CKT 914) or intermittent operation of the EBTCM.
P1571 is set when the desired torque signal the PCM sends to the EBTCM is not toggled to ground by the EBTCM thus not setting up a duty cycle. This signal is used by the EBTCM to tell the PCM to cut power (and how much to cut it ) if the EBTCM can not control wheel spin by application of the brakes alone. The PCM will set this code if it doesn't sense the toggling for a period of 3 seconds, the traction control hasn't failed and the engine speed is above 500 rpm. This code will not set a malfunction indicator light.
It is difficult to provide more info since the manual is 1400 pages and there is just too much to try and type in.

Thats were I would start...You can see the connector to the steering position sensor at the base of the column by simply looking under the dash
Thanks for the reply...I certainly want to do the easiest to start...I will be cleaning all the grounds this weekend and wanted to do them one by one to diagnose which may, if any, are causing the problem.
Have a Good Holiday...thanks again to all who have replied. Tom
