I have done my calipers with FoliaTec paint process a few years ago and they still look like the day I did them. I would recommend that you completely remove them from your vehicle and take the time and care to do them right. good luck...
I did mine with rustoleum blue metallic almost a year ago. I also did the mounting brackets. They look as good as the day I did them. I used the down time to upgrade to ss lines, bled the system and greased the sliders. I think the hitemp stuff is is only needed if you race. There were other colors available as well. Good luck.
Did and "on car" painting and it was a breeze. Mine were very clean (in that I do not drive in the wet) so cleanup was easy. Used the Duplicolor Caliper Paint and put a couple of coats. Used a paint marker (silver) to accent the letters and I am HAPPY with the results!
no offense but I bought that crap and it went on like $h!t..ended up stripping it off and buying Duplicolor 1200 degree paint and doing it that way..I had previously used Folia Tec which worked well...it still looked good after 3 years I just wanted to change colors...
oh yeah...you can take a piece of fine sandpaper over the letters to make themsilver again as opposed to trying to paint them
I used Rustoleum (two coats)one year ago and they are like the day they were done as long as you don't autocross. With a soft 3/4 camel hair artist brush they look like they were powder coated.
