After I shutdown the engine, about every 5 minutes a fan comes on for 5 seconds. I have opened the hood and the fan is located on the driver side near the windshield. What the 'ell is this and why the 'ell does it do it?
Been doing it for a couple months. Doesn't seen to hurt the battery, so I haven't been overly concerned. On the other hand, I would love to make it stop. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
I believe there was a "kit" to keep the air conditioner fan running after you turn off car to prevent mold buildup in evaporator coil. You could search TSBs and try to find it. I imagine you would have to "reverse kit", probably remove a new relay.
Thanks, Old Vetter. Good tip.
I now remember that I had the dealer fix the mold smell last summer and the fan has come on since then. I think I will leave it alone since it's not hurting anything.
