Great wheel. Trust me, if I can't destroy it, it can't be destroyed
Seriously, it's a very strong wheel. I have a set that are 4 years old (Comp) on a car that I track and still perfectly round and the finish is like new. And I've damaged 2 tires in that time.
The GT2 is the lighter of the SSR wheels, second only to the Comp. So, you may want to look at that wheel too.
Anyone have any experience with the SSR GT3 wheels? I'm looking for aftermarket wheels without the bling but that are light.
I was going to buy the SSR-GT3 wheels until I found out they were spun cast and not forged... the only thing forged on these wheels is the center star. the barrel is spun cast and not what I would want on my car. They are also clear coated which put the last nail in the coffin for me as a choice of wheels..
the wheels themselves are beautiful but after doing a little research I quickly moved away from them . Also light wheels and real streets with pot holes and occasional road debris could quickly bend a spun cast wheel... these wheels would be great for the track where the roads are properly maintained. as far a s clear coat goes stone dings can cause oxidation of the wheel below the clear, you cant rub out the oxidation because to get to it you have to rub it out and in doing that you will rub through more clear coat and cause more oxidation,, also the clear can turn yellow over time.. clear coated wheels never look as good as new a year later..
