I recently installed headers, and the Corsa Indys are too loud for my taste. I'd like to replace them with a Z06 Ti catback. Since I can't get the car high enough to install the one-piece Z06s, I thought I'd cut them, and use the existing Corsa over-axle pipes. Will thhe Z06s fit the Corsa pipes? Any other suggestions? Thanks.

You can get it high enough just pulled my TI's off two nights ago in garage and installed new Magnaflows.
Here is what I did
1.Put from on Rhino Ramps just to get more room.
2.Jack car and put stands under spring to the stands full extension and remove everything and get it ready to go over axle. Now Put a 6 inch block on top of jack and re jack car to top height you can wiggle it over axle without getting under car which would be unsafe with it not on jack stands. Once over axle let it back down on stands and finish hooking up.
Or I am using this as an excuse to look at a lift.

ThissenW, there is always a lot of discussion about this and the key point is usually whether on not you want to cut a stock system to avoid having to get the car very high ( at least 3 ft.) to install or remove an uncut system. My suggestion would be to cut the Z06 system and use a sleeve that is the perfect length to rejoin after installation. You can do this using Rhino ramps on the rear only. Remove the Corsa system completely, cut the Z06 at the straight section at the muffler end. There are several inches to get a good cut there. Pep-Boys sells the exact sleeve that you need. They are $2.50 each and you will need two, one for each side. Then install the Z06 over the axle pipes, connect the Z06 mufflers using the sleeves and two clamps, and this way you have a means to adjust the tips if needed. It is almost an identical installation to most of the aftermarket systems including the Corsa, none of which are one piece. I have just done two Corsa systems and I bought the sleeves just in case I need to use the stock systems again although I doubt it. The correct sleeve is a 2.5" to 2.5" ID. If you need the part number post here and I will go out to the shed and get it for you. Sorry about the length of this reply. Hope this is some help.

I just installed a titanium set on my car today. My car was very loud with the Borla Stingers. I did it in my garage with a floor jack and stands, worked out fine. Took me about an hour. I have a high quality jack and equal quality stands, so it may have been a little easier and alot safer than with a standard jack and stands. Bob
When I had my local muffler shop remove mine they had a very difficult time clearing the back of the lift. It was one of those drive on lifts with the ramps mounted to the lift. The ramps did swing down but the lip of these ramps, used to prevent the car from falling off the lift, were in the way when they tried to work the exhaust pipes out. It was obvious that they never did Corvette exhaust installs. First of all they had to use 2 x 8's in front of the ramps to clear my front facia. I think, if I was to go with the ti"s again I would find a shop that has the X lift using the jacking points to lift the car. Anyone esle had this problem on the installation. I had to actually stay very close to the car to prevent the mechanic from mand handling the exhaust pipes. He was like a bull in a china shop. Very scary install.

Bob,
I was comtemplating going with the Stingers. I have the Ti's now but they are a little too quiet. I did try the B&B Bullets and they were too loud, especially with my long tubes and Random Cats. I was wondering if the Stingers are in between the Ti and B&B Bullets. I don't want to spend another $700 and not be happy.

I never heard the B&B system so I don't have an honest comparison. The Borla Stingers are the best sounding out there IMHO. Mine were loud, headers no cats and a heavy foot make for a headache after 30 minutes. People think i'm nuts making the switch. Wish I could be more help. Bob
Don't cut the TI's. If you can't get the back up 33", just take the car to a shop and pay 'em $50. If you ever decide to sell your TI's, they're worthless after they're cut.

They flow enough for the Z06, which has 55 more horses. A header only adds about 1/2 of those horses without other mods.

When are they a detriment? My car is an '04 ZO6, I was intending to install headers, no cats, air induction (SLP or VR), AL flywheel, 160* stat, and a tune. I'd swap 'em to a less restrictive set of mufflers if the OE Ti's prove to be a limiting factor to the above collection of bolt-ons.
Sound really is secondary to maximizing the power output of the bolt-on parts. Car sounds fine stock, just wanted to improve the performance of the basic power plant.
