I just finished my heads and cam install and now my reverse lights do not come on when you put the shifter in reverse. The lights flash when i hit the unlock button so they obviously work but for some reason they do not engage when i try and back up.
I dont know where I could have hit anything related to this in the install but does anyone have any insight into this? Did I blow a fuse maybe or is there a connection that I missed.
my reverse light switch on the tranny went out, doesnt cost much to get it fixed
The reverse lamp switch on the tranny fails - this is a common problem. Since it's on a separate fuse than the Approach Light circuit, the lights still come on when you hit the FOB.
The switch is on the passenger side of the tranny towards the top and screws out. When it fails, it tends to short and will blow the fuse so you'll need to replace that as well.
Same problem here...just replaced mine last week. A quick 5 minute fix, and since I got the switch for $12 at a local autoparts store, so I didn't have to take a hosing from the stealership's parts department!
