I bought a used shifter and it does not have the gasket that the instructions refer to. Is there a place to order this piece? Can't seem to find anything searching the net.
Buy some gasket material at the parts store, trace the base on it and cut it out with some scissors or use some silicone gasket maker from a tube. Either one will work.
Thanks Patches, That sounds simple enough.
I'll give it a try this spring when I install it. I just want to make sure I have everything I needed before I start. I hate having to stop and run to the parts store in the middle of things.
You can buy gasket material at auto parts stores or Ace Hardware. The stuff at ACE is in about 6" x 6" sheets and is packaged with two sheets of different thicknesses. Works like a charm.
