Default Sound increase w/ LT's?

Currently stock a4 w/ GHL Bullets, no x-pipe. Thinking LT's in spring w/ hi-flo cats. I'm curious as to how much, if any, louder it will get? Car is daily driver w/ 60 mile freeway commutes in nice weather, don't want any headaches from excessive noise. What has everyones experience been w/ adding LT's with regard to sound on 'conservative' (no straight pipes, using hi-flo cats) cat-back exhausts?

thanks

With my Magnaflow catback and Dynamax headers the tone got deeper but not a lot louder. I am sure it got louder, maybe 10%, but the pitch change was the most noticible.

Default Hi Jason

Jason,

How is it going? You e-mailed me pics of your Supermaxx/Magnaflow install last week. I've just bought the Header pack and the MF's are on backorder. Thanks for the info and pics. Will proviude pics of the install as well.

You will hear a slight increase inthe interior while driving. There will be a good increase in sound out the exhaust.

Ed,

Glad it worked out. I think you will be happy. Did you get the catback from who I recommended? Did they give you the same deal?

The thing I try to stress about the addition of headers beyond the power increase is that the quality of the tone is significantly improved. The exhaust note is "crisper" IMO.

And smoother, especially when coupled to an X-pipe. I had my Z06 Titanium exhaust installed a couple of months before getting my Kooks LT headers and really didn't see too much of an improvement with just the Ti's. The headers made a huge difference in the way the Ti's sound. The tone is crisper, there's no motor boat sound and when you accelerate hard, you can really hear those babies sing even though under normal cruising, the sound hasn't increased much from how it was before, just the tone is different.

Alex,

Happy New Year. Hope your Holidays were good. Just getting ready to enter the Mod pool as well head first. Hope it turns out as well as everyone else. Will end it with a Dyno tune by Vettedoctors. Say hello to Jessica from Karin and myself and stay i touch. Need a Vette run soon.
