I have backed off the nut on the rear adjustment to where there're two threads showing, but the measurement from the ground to top of fender is currently at 28-7/8" Shouldn't it be an inch lower?
You'll need to drive some to let things settle in. It took a couple hundred miles for mine to gradually get to the 1" mark.
Here's the deal. I bought the corvette w/ 15K miles on it from Corvettes of Houston back in 1999.
I had my husband make the lowering adjustment today.
He came back and told me there were only two to three threads showing.
He backed it off an additional thread (hardly nothing)
He took the measurement. 28-7/8" is what he came up with.
What's the stock height?
DirteeDave it correct. Forgot to tell ya'll that the other day. It will take some time, could be two or three weeks, could be a few hours. I cut the bushings on mine and when the job was all said and done it practically looked the same but after a couple of weeks it settled down.
Like I said...the nut had already been backed off prior to purchase back in 1999. Current setting is at 28-7/8"
I doubt 1 thread will make a difference.

My stock height before lowering was 28.75". Now its at 27.75".

I dont know what it was originally, but I cut the bushings and backed the bolts out to 2 threads showing and Im now at 27 1/4" in the rear after one day of driving. BTW the car dropped almost to that height as soon as I was done lowering it.

CORRECT, but...
Once you put the car on a lift and unload the suspension, it doesn't matter if you turn it one thread or not at all. The car will sit higher than before lifting, and it takes time to settle. This is normal.
What was the measurement before hubby started the job?

He didn't take the measurement because he said it wasn't going to make a difference. He said the adjustment bolt had fine threads, not coarse. Ron (My hubby) said he backed-off the nut only 0.032"
I guess we'll have to install longer bolts.

If there is only 1 or 2 threads showing and this MOD was done 5 or so years ago it aint gonna drop anymore.
I have read that every car is different and some drop more than others. It seems that yours has not dropped at all which I have never read about, but there is always a first.
If you now want to go lower you will probably have to add longer bolts and cut the bushings. There are some write-ups on how to do this and it doesn't seem too complicated, but obviously much harder than leaving it on the stock bolts.
good luck.
BTW - mine dropped a little more than an inch on the stock bolts, but it took about 1 month to completly come down.
