OK, Dynatech Supermaxx headers guys, chime in!
Thinking about this complete set up with for my 02 Z-06 as they seem to be about the best bang for the buck. What type of before after power numbers have you guys picked up with this system and do you recommend them?
HOw does the overall power throughout the rpm band compare to the LGMs, etc.
THANKS

I'm worse. I already bought them and are waiting for a delivery!
Me too! But I am hoping I'm better for it, not worse. Others that have installed them I have talked to love the fit and function. I think it is the best bang for the buck. I certainly couldn't justify another $600 for the LGs which is almost the identical header.
Are headers llegal or illegal! I keep hearing different stories!
Depends on the local smog laws in your state. In some states they require special approval which is obtained by the manufacturer. More touchy than the headers though is the catalytic converters. It is against Federal statutes to remove them. Most states do not allow you to relocate the converters which is the case with most aftermarket systems. The smog tests depend on visual checks to evaluate your exhaust system and if it passes the sniffer test, some smog techs won't do much of a visual. If they do, find another smog place.
I don't have dyno #'s yet but I can tell you the fit and finish are excellent. My mechanic told me it came with the nicest hardware he had seen with headers. I noticed a nice increase with the buttometer. A major plus is I have been driving the car without tuning and have set no codes and all 4 O2's are working properly. My HP Tuners should be here this week so in the next couple of weeks I should have some hard #'s.
I have had mine on for about 6 months. I like the sound and the fit was very good. I had mine SwainTech coated. You can't beat the price below $1,200.00
Jim I just picked up a complete KOOKS 1 7/8 header/ x exhaust (NO CATS) from Scoggins-Dickey for $1195 SHIPPED!
I replaced my TPIS 1 3/4 and 2 3/4 Random Tech X section on the car for 2 years and picked up a quick 12 RWHP with a quick dyno tune. ..and there's more in there!! More important there is a much more noticeable throttle response and the revs just climb soooo much faster!! I'm Happy with the KOOKS

I just got a PM from Jason at Texas-Speed They are having a sale on them. PM me and i'll tell you.
I picked up a good 3 MPH in the 1/4 mile. Definitely worth it IMHO. I haven't shopped for LT's in a while, but, when I purchased the Dynatechs last summer they were the best deal around for a *complete* kit.

Do you want my opinion? I haven't been in one of these header wrestling matches in a while.
Na, never mind. But I do think the key phrase is "how do they compare".
Actually we are getting ready to do a back to back test between these two headers within a week. So we can tell you exactly. (the test is being done in Colorado not Texas)
We put 3" cats and a 3" X pipe in the system for a reason. We would expect the LG header power to go down if we installed 2 1/2" cats and X pipes in our system. And that is what the others have.
Plus you can purchase the LG headers without cats for only $1395.
There are plenty of very high hp cars with LG headers installed.

01C5Z06,
That is probably one of the coolest looking yellow Z06s i have seen to date!! The black stripes on the hood and roof and the motorsport chrommies along with the rear fascia on the trunk lid, really set your baby off!!
I would seriously consider the Bellanger Tri-Y's. They are not cheap...But they are nice. I speak from personal experiance. Hate to you see waste money on the wrong set up........here's a little link... http://www.thorleyheaders.com/tech_basics_triy.html
I don't have the kit but did see it at PRI show. The quality looked really good. You can usually find real good deals through some of the supportig vendors on the system which makes it even better!!
I think that everyone has already seen my Dynatechs installed. I can vouch for the quality and fit. I can't tell you what gains I received since I have never had my car dynoed and am currently looking for someone in Utah that can do a dyno tune. Here is a link to the pictures of my SuperMaXX's. If you enlarge the picture you can see all the details of the headers.
