I just knew it would break!
I just knew it would break!
Well I was installing my new torch red shifter boot from Ecklers and when I tried to remove the oem boot off of the flimsy plastic ring which it is glued and stapled to it broke in half
I have it rigged for now, i used some heave metalic duct tape and it looks fine, you cant see it but it is not right and i will loose sleep over this.
I called the dealer and the say you cant buy just the ring, it comes with the boot attached to it. They quoted me $90 for it!! I said i don't think so...click.
Take the original plastic piece and trace it on to a 1/4" piece of plywood. Cut it out with a sabre saw or jig saw, staple your new boot to it.
Hobby shops may carry 1/8" plywood.
