Ok guys i will be adding vram to my 2000 C5 this weekend. I would like to hear some testimonials (I suck at spelling) How much HP you gain. How about 1/4 mile times? SOTP feel? Any info would be cool, damn i cant wait for it to get here, I just love mod season!!!

This is one PITA mod but it is worth it to most people. I was pretty happy with the performance, but not so happy with the fit and finish...or the install. It was my 1st mod on the 2000 Vertte that I had. I never had a chance to test it at the track, but SOTP was very good. Most people see about .2-.3 off in the 1/4. You will need to let your PCM reset itself before the power comes on fully, drive it about 75 miles or so on the hwy. Aslo, ignore all of the people who will come in here talking about hydrolock Good luck

I would also like to hear more peoples opinions on the vararam intake and some 1/4 mile times or dyno #'s with just that mod.

Do a search on "Vararam" and you'll be up all night reading a zillion threads.

I installed one on my '04 Z and definitely felt a seat-of-pants improvement. Install wasn't that bad, but the instructions were awful. Picture a photocopy of a photocopy and you'll catch my drift. Otherwise the fit on mine was fine, and the finish was acceptable. Just make sure you take your time.

Start that search and good luck on the install.

Yeah i did a search and found **** on actual hp number gains or 1/4 mile gains. Seem everyone just puts that dame thing on and drive, no dyno no track time.

If you call Richard Griffen at www.exit28motorsports.com, he should be able to give you some solid information. They're a supporting vendor. He has a lot of info on the mod, including hp gains, and also will have a good price with excellent customer service.

I chickened out on my install so I'm having A&A do it at the same time as they do the 4.10's. I pick the car up Friday.....and I'm thinking the SOTP gain will be very significant. Of course.....the results of the vararam might be skewed just a bit by the 4.10's......

My car picked up 3mph in the 1/4 mile...that's the only "dyno" I need to tell me it works! Fit & finish is okay...could be better, but no major issue. In my opinion, installation was not nearly as difficult as some people claimed, so don't let that scare you. And, since I live in South Florida where it pours nearly everyday during our Summer (which is about half the year), I was a little concerned about hydrolock potential...well, I've had mine for 2 years now and have driven through plenty of heavy rains and good sized puddles...unless you really do something stupid like drive into a lake, hydrolock isn't going to happen.

Compared to my old Vortex, the Vararam was quicker by .06-.08 & 1-1.5 MPH..

Definitrly worth it if you race!

It felt like I had a turbo charger that gave boost around 60 mph! Definite SOTP improvement!

On a h/c 346 a/4, I went from a Blackwing to VARARAM and gained 3 mph and dropped 3/10's at the track.

With the Vararam, B&B PRT exhaust and a Predator tune my 2002 MN6 Vert ran 13.0 @ 110 at Las Vegas.

b00stedC5,

The Vararam is awesome! We install tons of them and run out of them all the time.

We have gotten GREAT dyno results during our testing and tuning of the VR-B2 units on every car we have installed one on.

Let us know if you need one!

Thanks!

Default VR on '04 Z = SES light

Installed the setup on my '04 Z w/785 miles on it. SES light came on and indicated a lean condition. Installed IAW instructions w/absolutely no leaks.

Initially the dealer replaced the MAF. Same light w/in 30 miles.

Dealer, upon consulting w/GM, said the MAF couldn't adapt to the additional airflow. VR removed.

PITA and many lost hours. Better spent on an SLP intake.

I received mine today (Thanks SHAWN) from LAPD along with the power coupler (acts like a ported throttle body) and just waiting for the 10 inches of snow we just got in Chicago to melt, so that i can get it installed!!

The only problems i have heard about lean codes is on the 04 Z06s, which are tuned a lil leaner from GM for a few more free extra ponies!! There are hundreds running the vararam with 0 check engine lights coming on caused by lean condition. To the gentleman with the 04 Z, did you try getting it dyno tuned and riched up at all to take advantage of what seems by far the MOST POPULAR air intake system on the market for the last 2 years?

Shawn,

Hope you have the one I ordered last week! With all this talk I can't wait to get that bad boy installed.

Thanks again
