Default Which plugs and wires to use.???

I pulled the plugs out of the 99 and want to replace with new. Also I had problems with the wire on the #7 ( rear d/s plug ) and pulled the wire right out of the boot trying to get it off. So now I might as well get all new wires. They are the original wires and the car has 55,000 miles so I figure it's time anyways to change them.

WHich plugs do you all recommend? I don't want to use the really expensive ones as I have been reading that the copper ones work as well if you change them regularly. Need some advice. Which wires to run as well? Are the factory wires good enough or should I upgrade to MSD or something. Any gains to be had by spending more on wires?

Thanks guys.

Rizzo.

NGK TR55 "V power" plugs with copper core are great for performance needs although they do need to be changed out sooner than platinums at say every 15K-30K miles. I bought a set of 8 for $15 from Napa Auto Parts.
The MSD 8.5 mm plugs wires are also a good choice over the AC Delco stock 8mm plugs. I believe these run about $50-55 for the set of eight wires. No performance gains to be had from these upgrades, just a smoother running engine.

Rizzo,
I put NGK copper plugs and MSD wires on my 99 Hardtop soon after I bought it and am very happy with the results. In ten sustained high speed events through the years, I never had a problem. However, because changing them is such a PITA, when I put my B&B headers on, I will install Bosch +4’s because I don’t want to worry about gaps for a long, long time. BTW, quality plugs and wires won’t give you additional HP but they’ll prevent you from loosing it. – C.

Thank you everyone but, I located the problem. I could never understand why the check valves on two previous new fuel pumps failed to hold pressure. I installed a Summit check valve on the fuel rail, so that I would not need to cycle the ignition several times to get it to start. It worked fine for a while but, then the same thing happened. Last week I installed another check valve, and everything runs great again. I am thinking that there must be debris causing this problem. When my third new fuel pump comes in, I will somehow need to be sure that the system is clean, before I install it.
