Default Procharger from Andy (D1SC)... question...

I keep on reading about A&A Procharger (D1SC) and how great it is... Went on Andy's site and its priced at about 6,000... Is this kit a DIY or is it a must to have a local tuner install it? How much on ave do tuners charge to install a kit like this?

My cousin and I did install a turbo on a GSR Integra couple years back.. he did most of the work as I assisted...

I am hoping to get 500RWHP some day have to keep that new C6 Z06 on its toes when it hits the streets

Thanks guys

The kit certainly looks and sounds like a diy kit. After reading the instructions it looks about like a 2-3 day job. You might search for BlownFRC. He just completed the kit on his car.

If your mechanically inclined you can do it yourself. You do not needs heads/cam unless you want even more power. Also, keep in mind that the D1 blower is going to be somewhat loud. There will be no mistake that you have a blower on the car while it is sitting there idling. Definitely not stealthy.

Otherwise stock Z06's (well w/ headers) are making 550+ on only 5-6 lbs of boost.... it's pretty awesome.

Does anyone have a sound clip of a D1 Blower at idle? How loud is loud?...

I wasn't planning on doing heads/cam... just the blower.... What can I expect to get as far as RWHP...

You should have no problems getting 500+ rwhp without doing H/C. Install prices generally range from $1,000 - $2,000 depending on what is included (tuning, fuel pump install, etc, etc). Both ECS and A&A make very nice ProCharger kits.

It's not loud as you are thinking probably. It is just the blower "whine" or "whistle" that the ATIs put out is what I am talking about. I agree, with that blower you would be pushing 500 hp.
