I asked this question befor and had no response. So here it is again.
My spec II clutch came with a 1/4 inch plate to be installed behind the slave cylinder to raise the pedal engagement height or I can leave it out for a more stock pedal engagement feel. Does anybody have any experiances with this? Id like to only take the whole car apart once and be happy with it when im done. Thanks
Tolerances on the car are pretty exact, if they put the plate in there chances are you need it. My buddy had a SPEC II installed and the installers told him to get a new flywheel, he tried to do it on the cheap and resurface the old flywheel. He said they took .10 off the flywheel and when they put ti back on the car the clutch engagement was all screwed up.
Cost him more to have it taken back apart and a new flywheel put in.
Well, the way the Phone tech at Spec explained it to me was if I wanted a higher pedal use it, if I want a lower pedal leave it out. What your saying makes sense though. Im using a new fidanza fly wheel so I didnt even give it a thought about the differance in tolerances after resurfacing. Maybe thats all its for, he should have told me that.Or maybe I was suppose to just know that? I think Ill call him back. Thanks.
