I hvae been doing some research and the basic assumption is you should choose your exhaust for the vette solely for sound. Picking up 7-10whp is the norm with only a catback.
Now, having said that. I think I am going to buy 2 mufflers and have them welded in keeping the stock piping. The catbacks are expensive as hell IMO for only getting 7-10whp. I would guess that 5-8whp of that comes mostly from the free flowing mufflers, and the other hp or 2 comes from the piping.
Can you buy the corsa mufflers seperate, or is the only way to get them by buying the catback? Any other companies sell them? I will deal with the stock tips later, so Im not really concerned about that. We just want the car louder, and the wife realy doesnt care about the extra hp as she will NEVER put the car to the floor(but I will) Thanks in advance
I brought a set of Z06 ti used for $350. The Z06's and gutted pup cats gave me the sound I wanted. You can also gut your stock mufflers and add tips, it's easy if you can weld. You can get a set of stock mufflers free or use your own. I did a set but didn't use them due to getting the Z06's. There's a sound clip on the net. It sound good to me. Good luck!

Or you could get a set of resonating tips, cut the mufflers off and replace them with the tips and have yourself a nice sounding set of pipes for about $150 installed. I did this and loved the sound.
I would seriously check ebay. There are a lot of exhaust systems on there that turn out to have cut pipes or missing over-axle sections. They generally sell for cheap because so few want to mess with something they can't bolt right in. Have you thought about just trying the A&A exhaust bypass mod first? If you aren't looking for lighter weight or stainless steel, but are looking for increased air flow and a little different/better sound, that might be an easy place to start. and you can have a muffler shop do the work cheap. Good luck with your decision!
