NEED HELP!!! Car wont start...

I was going out this morning to wash my car and as I got in it and tried to start it, nothing happened. Then I started hearing this knocking soound coming from under the hood. I thought it was the battery so to get this weird knocking sound to quit I disconnected it. As soon as I reconnect the battery the knocking sound comes back. The key is not in the ignition so I have no idea what could be trying to run. Any ideas... I am at a total loss... I had driven the car about an hour or two earlier with no problem at all.

Help!!!!!!

Went out and tried to start it again, still nothing, but when you put the key and turn it to on, the knocking sound stops, as soon as you turn it to off, it starts again. Weird

Dead battery, bad starter in addition to a software glick! Who knows?

Sounds like your battery went out, it can happen quick and cause all kinds of strange problems. Most go witht he Optima Redtop which is about $100 or so -

Exactly what it was, went and bought and Optima Red Top and it cranked right up... Weird how fast that sucker went out... But hey it's running now so I am
