Misfire
This is my 1st post and apologies for it being a question....
I've got a 99 Coupe with cam/headers/zorst/air intake and 42k miles.
All was well until a couple of days ago when I put my foot down the car started to misfire. I parked the car and 10 minutes later started her up no problems. Then the other day it did it again, then cured itself. Then yesterday it started misfiring and now wont stop misfiring.
I've done the code check by pressing options and fuel 4 times. The only Current code is:
P0101 Mass Air Flow (MAF) System Performance.
Im guessing that the misfire code P0300 was deleted when the cams were done. I've checked the spark plug leads and they are all attached. They are stock leads and have nothing other than the metal covers to protect them from the heat. I've read that they can be damaged from the heat of performance headers. All leads look ok though?
Another thing I read was if the crank angle sensor was malfunctioning this can cause a misfire. Is this true?
Can anyone help.
Thanks very much
