Installed a few sets of these.. but all with the heads off. I've always just removed the motor mount bolt and jacked up that side to get them in.

On some occasions I have had to remove coil packs and valve covers, starter (don't need to disconnect the wires just remove bolts and shove out of the way), and then jack up the engine. Car has to be up in the air far enough to drop the header down, jockey it around.

It will go.

We took the coil packs, valve cover and starter off as well to fit the passenger header in. I helped install a set of 1-3/4" Kooks so the clearance was probably slightly better. We definitely had to jack the engine to get enough clearance to drop the header in.

took off everything including valve covers, loosen opposite motor mount, remove nut from pass side mount, jack eng up from pass side till intake barely touches cowl, at least loosen starter ( best to remove and don't forget to reinstall before landing headers ) they will go in. May have to pry engine over with a 2x4. The instructions really oversimplify the job but it can be done.
Enjoy the response the Kooks will give you.
