Default Automatic Transmission Normal or Not ?

Howdy all. I have a 99 Coupe which I am the second owner.
Something I have been wondering about since I purchased it.
Is how it down shifts or kind of when it wants to.
It shifts fine, but you got to ease into the trottle for it to downshift. If you floor it, she got to think about it for a while then down shifts.

The car only has 27,000 miles on it. I am ready to change fluid and filter.
Anything else to look into ?

Thanks in advance for the advice.

I've noticed this same problem with my 99'. Sometimes when I floor it she down shifts to the passing gear like she supposed to and takes off like a bat out of hell. Other times she just moves out half a!@ (she acts like I didn't even floor it ). I've been wondering if I should have my tranny looked at before I go with more mods? All I have is Varaam and Corsa Cat back right now but planning for more bang during the summer...

I had a 98 coupe before I got my Z my advice to you is Get A Transgo shift kit it you wont be sorry. Im
sure if you do a search here on the forum you will find many posts about the transgo. You might want to do a google search about the transgo it will explain how it improves the tranny and extends the life of the tranny. Oh by the way my 98 had 76000 miles on it when I traded it and the tranny was in great shape

Well you would think that there has to be a way to adjust or tune that out of them.
I am sure someone know's a fix.
I only have the blackwing air intake. Have the GHL x-pipe and bullett exhaust will get that on next week.
Oh and the hood seal of course.

I used LS1 edit to adjust shift time and torque management. Long term wise, it will shorten the life of my tranny but my intention is to do a six speed swap. Short of a shift kit, this is about your only option for quick, firm shifts.

i might go with the transgo on my auto too. I used to have a 77 impala with a 383 stroker in it, 350 trans with shift kit and it shifter harder and faster than my c5. I here the transgo will increase the life of your trans too.

I am interested in the Transgo. What is a good price for it? How hard is it to install?

They run about $100 and take 2-4 hours to install.

If you got the pan off, do the Transgo. No more waiting to shift. Goose it a little and you get the right gear. Transforms the A4.
