I have an opportunity to buy a set of never run 5.3L Absolute Speed Stage 2 heads. I would greatly appreciate any experiences with these heads!
TIA!
i had a set on my 30th trans am. they were the "older style". i made 429rwhp with a comp xer 230/230 cam and full bolt ons. i liked them alot. i just bought a set of absolute 2.5's that im installing on a vette.
the setup on my ws6 let me smoke my friends 03 z06 from a dig and a roll and i beat a 01 gts viper and a gxr 600 twice from a 40mph roll and a 70mph roll. i messed with the exhaust after the tune and screwed it up. it lowered my power do to 416rwhp but i still ran a 11.97@119.88 with a 1.8 60'. 3600lbs.

Thanks for the feedback! What were the "older style"? How can I tell the difference?
If these are the set that are selling for $1700 there a steal! Jays heads are top notch and you won't be dispointed. U may want to switch the springs out for something more milder-I believe these heads you are talking about have the comp 977's. Go for it-their worth it!
Good power for the money, a solid 420-450 rwhp (M6) with decent boltons and a hot cam. But just be aware Jay has closed up shop for now, so support/parts/info for these is pretty much nil now. They should come with either with comp 977 or 978 springs.
I have a set of stage II's with the 977's. With a custom cam he chose(230/236 .570/.578 114 +4)I went from 316 rwhp/ 380 rwtq to 388 rwhp/410 rwtq through a A4 with 3.73's and a 4000 stall. My E.T. dropped from 11.62 @ 114 to 11.11 @ 121. If you can get them for a good price, go for them.
Thanks for the replies! Will the Comp 977 valvesprings work with a Comp 228/228 .588/.571 114 LSA hyd. cam? Or are they designed to work with solid rollers?
