Default Safe mileage for SC

What would a safe mileage be for SC install. I have about 60000 miles on my car now and am considering the procharger but don't know if it is safe to bolt on without a rebuild for stronger internals.

Anyone bolt one on at similar miles?

This one really depends on the condition of the car. There are several here who have successfully installed FI on higher mileage cars than yours and are happy as clams. Are there any know troubles? DOes your car burn much more oil than it did when it was new? How was it maintained? Did it have regular oil changes?

If it were a car that I was fairly confident had been taken care of for the most part, I would not hesitate to make it hte way I want (adding a supercharger).

I purchased the car recently but from service records, the car has been maintained properly. As for oil burning, I am not sure. I know for myself, the car is taking about 1 quart per 1000 miles. I am not sure if that is the norm but I heard the vettes like to burn oil.

This is NOT normal - what year is the vette? if it is an 01, maybe early 02 - you may have an oil consumption issue, where they would re-ring the motor... then you could run a S/C

do you have an ext warranty?

I've got 74000 on a stock 2000 LS1 and it uses 1/4 to 1/2 quart every time the DIC tells me to change it, around 6500 - 10000 miles. Sounds like your engine has had some hard driving.

I've installed chargers on some pretty high milage motors in the past.
It's more up to the condition of the engine than the milage.
