C6 Pricing
I'm still not ready to make the plunge into Corvette ownership. Until I can get up to Kerbecks, I thought I would check GMBUYPOWER for some available coupes in my general vacinity in central Maryland. Low and behold I found a dealer who had a Silver coupe and a Yellow coupe, both MN6. As I'm not much for beating around the bush, it wasn't long into my conversation with a salesman, that I popped the question "Are you discounting these?" His reply was that he was selling his vettes for MSRP plus 2 grand. When I informed him that there is no way that I would pay above MSRP and that I knew of a Forum Dealer who was discounting at 2500 dollars, he immediately confessed that it was getting to be the end of the month and that he could match that price.
Bottom line, folks, hold your ground, don't act like it is something you really have to have and you have a good chance of getting one for under MSRP. Now as I said, I'm not ready to do the deal yet, but I have a feeling that this is the perfect time to just "Do It". Good luck to all who are in the buying mode. I sure am favoring buying from some dealers stock instead of ordering one. This particular salesman couldn't tell me about his allocation so I wouldn't have much faith in him getting me the exact car that I wanted in an acceptable time frame--Ed
