Default Difference in 06 c6's

Hi freinds. It's me again. Just wondering if anyone knows if there will be any difference in the 06 c6? I heard they are going to put a smaller steering wheel in it. Is that true? Anything else different? Thanks.

Right now the smaller steering wheel is about the only confirmed thing, as to the 6 speed auto, GM press releases state the 4 speed auto will be in the 06's.

The XM antenna will be concealed in both outside mirrors. The 6 speed auto will not be available for 2006.

Not as long as Dave Hill is in control of the Corvette Program.
And I totally agree with his position: "The steering wheel is for steering the car."

Good, now I can go order my 05 this weekend. I can live with the current steering wheel.

I find it interesting that in another thread a forum member spotted an 06 with paddle shifters on the steering wheel while watching their car being built on the line. I wonder why they would release that prior to the 6 speed auto.

We have seen in several Treads that because of production problems they may extend the 2005 build cycle? The plant retools or changes over to the next model year around July, how can anyone be seeing a 2006 model in January 2005? I would think as they did while manufacturing some Z06's late December the plant would be closed (tours). I can't believe they would conduct tours if they were manufacturing a set of cars for the next model year?
IMHO

It could have easily been a test car. I think he was guessing at the model year

I don't work at BG; however, we have had 2006 Saturn VUEs and IONs in testing since December. These vehicles were manufactured on line at the Spring Hill Assembly Plant.
If there are no noticeable changes as in a 2006 C6, they might not close the plant, same for the ZO6, now that it has been displayed at Auto Shows. Not saying BG would not close, but they might not.

The 6L60-E is being designed for the 1/2 ton trucks/SUVs and the 6L80-E is for the 3/4 ton trucks. The 6L80-E also appears in the Buick Vélite concept, which has 400/400 for HP and Torque.

GM already officially stated that 2006 Corvettes will not offer a 6-speed automatic. That's about as debunked as it can actually get.
