Wheel cleaners
With the wheels on the C6 having stick-on wheel weights I suggest that you don't use wheel cleaners. My 98 had mag wheels that used the stick-on weights. I used a wheel cleaner on them for a short time. It made the adhesive degrade and the weights came off.
dangerous...they contain acidic formulas that can eat through the clear coat...and if you have that polisged rims...even worse...if you thought the rim looked bad before just imagine after you throw more acid on it...
I would suggest using P21S wheel cleaner. It is not acidic and will not harm paint or rubber. The cheaper cleaners available at discount stores, including auto parts stores, do not have the same properties as P21S. Over time, the cheaper cleaners will damage the finish of your wheels and destroy paint, chrome, and rubber parts. There are similar cleaners to P21S, also German made, but I have used only the original formula of P21S.
I have had many, many sets of custom wheels and factory wheels and I use nothing but car wash and water and apply a coat of Zaino to all of them and detail them for shows with Z-6 detailer.......
