I was wondering if anyone has a problem with their alignment of their steering wheel.... In order to go straight I have to hold my steering wheel to the right about 1/8 of a turn... I was told by the dealer to bring it back when it has 500 miles on it and they can adjust the alignment..... Anybody else have this problem? thanks......
Just a minor tilt to the right when in the fast lane to make up for the slope in the road. Normal in any vehicle but still, 1/8 of a needed turn is a little excessive.

Interesting, I had the EXACT Same Problem with my C5, took it into the dealer, and they had it fixed in about 20Min.
Not sure What the Heck they did, but it was perfect after they finished.

My steering wheel was off about 30 degrees. Took it in and they fixed it. Don't know if they removed the steering wheel and realigned or just aligned front end. It's fine now.

Since the steering wheel is aligned to the column, it cannot be adjusted. They would have had to put it on an alignment rack, lock the steering wheel at zero degrees and perform an alignment.

In the "old days" the wheel was splined and you could put it on upside down if one wanted to... Things change.

Due to the roll coil, that is essentially an inline rotating connector, that allows the current from the SDM to blast off the air bags, steering wheels, as well as the roll coil have to be indexed. I would guess you could still get it off by a spline or two, but it is not recommended.
Three of the C6's in our Club, LCC, had the same proble, bought from three diff dealerships in TX got them fixed within minutes and no i did not have to wait until i had 500 miles cause i upgraded to the Z51 sway bars so they fixed my alignment at 275 miles
vettes are built as follows:
5201 vin, mine
4400 sometin , PR
12000 sometin black
sorry for the sometin, i do not know their vins...
so they were not built at the same time and still had the same problem
looks like this was done during shippin...

Don't ever let anyone pull your steering wheel off to straighten it even if it is possible. Doing that will center your wheel BUT you will loose your "high point" in the steering rack or box.... Most steering systems are slightly tighter when on center.
Steering wheel alignment is simply set by adjusting the "toe" on the front end. Set a fixture in the steering wheel that will, if properly installed, hold the wheel straight, and when this is done, someone or something will align the toe-in, underneath. That's how we do it at my GM factory...and they have the same basic set up at Bowling Green.

no reason to wait 500 miles the shop you took it to just didn't do it right. The toe is set right when you measure it from the tires, but not from the center line of the car. A local shop (Georgia) did the same thing to my mom's Caddy.
