Picking up a new C6 Silver/blk, MN6, Nav, etc. this weekend after waiting for 42 years between vettes. My first new Corvette was a 63 Convertible, 4spd, 340HP and now I finally will have another one.
My concern is that I will be picking the car up in another state and driving it back home about 500 miles. There is mostly interstate driving and I'm asking for any suggestion as to the break in period. I know I shouldn't keep a sustained speed for any length of time but it's going to be hard on an interstate.
I drove my car home from Les Stanford, 550 miles. It's OK to do whatever the speed limit is, just vary the speed every 10 minutes. Also let off the gas every once in a while you can to drop your speed 5 mph and then go back up. Stopping for a half hour to allow a cool down is also helpful. Plan on lunch and dinner on the way home. The cool down helps the rear end break-in.

Thanks for any help.
Congratulations! You'll be thrilled.
If you can do some non interstate driving that would be better. Plus you'll find it fun. In 1993 I drove from Kerbecks in NJ to Ohio and varied speed and gears. It was a pain. Non hard brake usage is a must! You can do it on the interstate, but it will be a pain.
Don't worry. I'm picking mine up at the museum and driving back to South Texas. My wife and I are looking forward to the drive. That being said I would appreciate good weather. Cheers
