Originally ordered acar in Nov.Dealer never came up with anything.Went to another dealer ,a big one.About to order then i got the 3 to 4 month waiting time.Found out no current allotment.About to do it again, the dealer is telling me he has the allotment, but my discount went down to 2000 from 3000,but its ok i want the car.The salesman tells me they do 30 vettes, mgr tells me 14 vettes, and they only delivered 1 so far with 2 in stock and 1 on the way.The one i want to go with is a very big one,i trust him hes been there forever,a whole floor only for vettes. He wont discount, but claims anyone ordering a car now WILL NEVER DELIVER!!!!!Is he blowing smoke? My payments between 2000 off and list is about 40 bucks /month.With a 50000 car should that matter?I could to Atlantic City and blow that in a hour.

Go to Kerbeck in Atlantic City and buy what you want. They have most everything in stock. See their website at kerbeck.com

The order for my car was put in towards the end of December. My car has been stuck in quality control for a couple weeks, but I expect to see it at the end of this week or beginning of next.

They were not the only dealer who offered to order me what I wanted, so I would say any dealer with a decent allotment can order you a car and have it in a month or so. I'd probably head up to Kerbeck if you're close enough to consider gambling in Atlantic City over Las Vegas.

I agree. I ordered thru a dealer here in Denver, But I buy a lot of vans/trucks.....they won't fool around. I got my allocation that day. If you don't know who your dealing with, be cautious. The Foreum dealers all seem like great guys and will keep their reputation by taking care of CF members. Good Luck

Local dealer

Order through one of the Forum dealer. Tons of allocation, and assuming you don't want a vert with a beige power top, nav system and Z51, you should get a car easily enough.

I think the waiting this is either BS from the dealership, or it depends on the 'clout' of the dealership (meaning how much they move corvette's, what their allotment is with Chevy, etc...).

I bought mine at Cormier Chevy near Long Beach, CA. They said if I wanted to order one that it would not have been a problem as they do it all the time (saw their order board, they had about 8+ listed when I bought mine several weeks ago). Just the waiting period is all I would have had to deal with (about 3 months).

These guys do have some clout with Chevy as they're the #1 Vette dealership in California (it's their speciality). They have one of the largest allotments of Corvette's because they move them like crazy (sell at least 1 - 2 a day). They actually buy up Vette's across the country and lose money from paying the extra shipping charge to keep their allotment high and to meet the demand. Hence they get a bunch from Chevy and special orders aren't a problem for them.

I asked them and they said they could deliver a car nationwide (a friend in Dallas was interested and having problems finding one there), so check out their inventory on chevy's website and call them if you're interested (ask for Mark Deen and tell him Benson says hi . If do a vehicle locate search on Chevy's web site, enter 90245 as the zip and Cormier Chevy should show up on the first page. Current inventory as of this writing shows 27 C6s in stock .

Default Not So Important Opinion

Well after reading the CF since December and waffling on a Museum delivery, a local purchase, an Atlantic City pickup at Kerbecks, agonizing over this "constaint" thing, I finally got the ball rolling on purchasing over the phone from Kerbecks. I've got to tell you that this was really right for me. I am gettng as close to the exact car as I could get without ordering from the factory and none of the hassles of shipment, delays, and constraints. Except for the XM and ONSTAR it's exactly as dreamed, MLB,Cashmere, 6SP, Z51,URU,1SB. I would certainly suggest that anyone looking to purchase a C6 needs to visit Kerbecks web site, pick out their dream car, then get to A.C. to pick it up. Spring is coming and you can have it within a couple of weeks. I can't wait. Is this exciting or what??? More on this epic tale when I take delivery on 12 February--Crazyeddie, getting crazier
