Default Door Locks

I have recently noticed that the doors do not lock, yet the alarm does engage all the time. I have accidently tried to open my door without pushing the unlock on the remote. The alarm sounded, yet the door did open.

Has anynone else had this problem? If so, any suggestions?

It takes a few seconds to complete the lock sequence, so if someone is standing next to the door checking the door immediately for locking it will open. Check manual for delay!

You said you accidently can open the doors without hitting unlock on the keyfob. The door locks are designed so you don't have to use the key fob. You just have to walk up to the car and go. Try leaving the fob in the house and then try the doors. If the doors still open without the fob near the car then you have a problem.

I've had my car for 7 days. I need to read, read, read my manual, too. Mine came programmed (maybe they all do) that it arms/disarms when the key bob is within 4' of the car. I went out to get something out of my trunk yesterday and didn't have "bob". The door was locked, so I reached in (top was down) and pushed the trunk button and the alarm went off. Great system.
