Being a newbie, I am still trying to figure out the Corvette allocation system. Can an order be accepted by GM (status code 1101) if the dealer has no allocation? Or can I assume that the dealer truly had an allocation if that level of status code has be reached? It drives me nuts!!!

Dealer needs an allocation to get the order moving for you.
Two key questions to ask the dealer.
1) How many allocations do you have left for ordering 2005 Corvettes?
2) Where am I on the list of orders, are there others waiting ahead of me for an allocation?
These should help. Might try to ask them to the inventory manager. I tried the same questions with the sales guy and he outright lied to my face. But then again, what else is new.
Thanks for the info. I feel as insecure as ever about the deposit I put down at the dealer.
Hang in there. Above all, talk with your dealership. You should be able to find someone that can give you the strainght answers.
It could be worse. I traded in my S2000 on December 6th for credit on the Vette order. I was told an allocation would be available toward the end of December. In the reality of it all the allocation didn't hit until January 27th and then there were constraint issues to deal with.
We all seem to have our stories. Some are worse and scarie than otheres, but they all add to the mystic of the Corvette.
